June 2008 O'Reilly Fab crane & rigging experience called to Spectro

Spectro Alloys contracted O'Reilly Fabrication and Welding Services this month to oversee the tactical removal, fabrication and replacement of there air filtration systems duct work. The project was unique due to the ducts varying in size from 36” in diameter to over 72". 

"The real problem was the 1/4 inch materials the ducts were formed from were dangerously corroded and were over 1/2  full of wet, sticky dirt," states President Jake O'Reilly.  "Wet material that was unevenly displaced throughout the ductwork totaled over 135 tons, demanding careful rigging and crane work for safe removal." 

After extensive planning and rigging, all 600' feet of duct work was removed, fabricated and reinstalled.
